David is Founder, Chief Evangelist and Technical Architect for JawBite, a premier voice and messaging services company. In partnership with Thing5 LLC, JawBite provides voice-activated access to the world’s content libraries. David serves as Managing Director for Thing5 LLC, a position held since November 2002, after having founded the organization. Before that, he was Chief Technology Officer at Giga Information Group and CEO for its predecessor company BIS Strategic Decisions, both information technology research and advisory firms in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to that David worked on a series of private engagements including the joint development effort between Microsoft and Timex. The result was the first production wireless interface between a personal information management source and a mobile wrist device. In addition David has been involved in a variety of private consulting projects including the formation of the IT foundation for large hospitality management companies. Before that he spent 10 years with Gartner Group in Stamford, CT.
Operations Director, Master Cat Herder
Mario has been involved with JawBite from the beginning, and is the master at keeping things under control. Whether it be managing the operations surrounding the core JawBite systems or riding herd on the staff to keep the teams on task, Mario has the day-to-day operations covered. An avid Yankees fan, during work hours Mario does his best to keep his allegiances to “that team” under control. Away from the office, Mario busies himself during football season as a referee and is quick to take advantage of a round of golf whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Carol focuses on bringing the right solutions to the right people, in the right way. Sales, marketing, account management – making sure that customers get value and solutions that meet their needs is her goal. Years of experience at a Fortune 50 company followed by working at a fast growing software firm incited her devotion to smart, nimble companies with great solutions.
Product Deployment and Operations
John spends his time at JawBite on the bits and bytes, right at the junction of developers’ code and usability. Known for re-writing, re-testing, and refining products to make them optimally usable, deployable and enjoyable, John is a product developer who won’t rest until it is perfect. After years in project management and executing large-scale technology deployments, John has got the details covered.
Eddie is one of JawBite’s voice engineers, and brings his unique set of experiences and “out of the box” approach to the Team. Eddie is another one of JawBite’s Florida based employees and has been withJawBite since its inception. An avid and still active soccer player, Eddie continues to fight the uphill battle to convince his JawBite colleagues in the Massachusetts office the true meaning of “football.”
Aaron is Jaw Bite’s deployment manager and go to person on all PBX questions. When not coordinating deployments and working in PBX systems, Aaron enjoys spending his time doing anything family. He enjoys spending time with his boys in the outdoors doing everything from building forts to going camping. He also enjoys taking old pieces of furniture and giving them a new lease on life.
Software Architect, General Mischief
Mike has been a programmer for half of his life, the other half is shrouded in mystery. Speculation abounds that he had no infancy, but arrived on the planet at the age of 13 equipped with a linux box. He keeps his technical and artistic skills honed by being devoted to development and ongoing enhancement of Phonate and JawBite.
Systems Architect, Major Distraction
Interests include: providing unending frustration and sleepless nights for the entire JawBite Team, and long moon-lit walks on the beach.
Customer Support Manager
Mike is quick on his feet and quick to make changes to meet customers’ needs. He thrives on solving issues for people and is a bridge between JawBite’s technical staff and end-users. When he is not helping customers, he is boating, fishing or camping – always enjoying meeting new people.
James puts the engine in engineering with elegant VoIP and data network design. Developing and refining a communication solution that eliminates typing and writing – that requires only that you speak – is not only his passion, it’s perfectly aligned with his other technology fetish, social networking.
Michelle is a consummate organizer, tracker and manager of all things that make an organization’s operations run smoothly. No to-do item goes undone nor question unanswered with Michelle. In her free time she runs marathons and kick-boxes – her stamina and strength are great assets toJawBite , as is her degree in Economics.
Eric manages JawBite’s B to B sales efforts and is responsible for all master agreements and vendor/carrier partner agreements. He will help these user segments better understand the power of JawBite and also help each partner and carrier organization with product penetration within each organization.
David keeps things rolling smoothly at JawBite, applying his audio recording and editing expertise along with paramount project management skills. When he is not documenting and testing the latest JawBite features, he can be found DJing at nightclubs. In order to lose the pallor induced by his long hours indoors, he hits mountain trails on foot or bike.
Sheldon immerses himself into all aspects of Customer Service while splitting time flashing his “badge” around the office as Chief Fulfillment Officer. A longtime member of the team, Sheldon has been a fixture to many JawBite clients. Outside of work, Sheldon can mostly be found playing the role of proud papa with his son, joining in a local football game, or enjoying the latest mixed martial arts event.
Training & Support
Theresa is the go to person for training and support. Her years of experience working directly with end users training and supporting a variety of voice based products, coupled with her perpetually upbeat attitude, helps “lead the way” in our training and support group. As a lifetime “Nutmeg State” resident, Theresa’s passion for everything Connecticut is evident, as is her support of her home state Huskies.
David has been an intern at Thing5 LLC for the past four summers and now as a JawBite resource has been able to move from office page to XML editor extraordinaire. David is responsible for the upkeep of everything related to natural language grammar functionality, IVR logic and all speech services. He is currently spending his winters in Boston at Northeastern University attempting to juggle dual mathematics and computer science majors with an active party life in the hub of the world.
Mr. “Fix It”
Dennis has been with JawBite for almost a year, and is involved with all aspects of support, both client facing and back of the house. Dennis’s perpetually upbeat outlook plays a key role in not only assisting JawBite clients, but allowing for effective first hand collection of client feedback. Outside the office, Dennis is an avid sneaker collector; a interest born form a passion for almost any type of athletic endeavor.
Networks, networks, and more networks. Mike lives networks. Mike has been with JawBite since its inception and is the key man behind the design and support of the JawBite Networks. A lifetime Floridian, Mike annually holds out hope that his beloved Dolphins will once again rise to prominence.
Application Deployment Support
Anthony is new to JawBite in 2010, and has efficiently moved into a key role supporting the JawBite deployment process. A quick study with a tenacious focus on the task at hand, Anthony does not rest until all aspect of a assignment are completed and tested. One of a few of the vocal Yankees fans in the home office, Anthony helped his local softball team win the city championship this year. A sports nut, Anthony keeps his basketball handy, always ready to join the next pickup game.
Off Hours Support
Corey is one of JawBite’s key support staff members that burn the midnight oil in order to offer around the clock support for the JawBite product set.
Wes is the newest member of JawBite and has quickly become an integral part of the development team. Wes spends the bulk of his time on the JawBite’s integrations efforts. A recent transplant from Maine, Wes is looking to enjoy a “shorter” and less intense winter season this year.
Shawn splits his time between front line support and systems operations. A “jack of all trades” type, Shawn is constantly being called into a variety of projects. When Shawn is not at work he enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with friends.
After Hours Support
Ryan is JawBite’s Night Support Specialist. He makes sure everything is running in tip top shape all night long! In his spare time he enjoys PC/Console gaming and reading.
